The Caped Cracker Barrel Crusaders to the Rescue!

Myself, Glen-duh, Bueller (aka Christina) Chunklet (aka Meredith) and Monique (need to work on a nickname).

So, Mer and I hit Cracker Barrel the night before to check things out and to make sure that their service and food was up to par with the rest of the country. It was great! They even have the sinfully delicious Coca Cola Chocolate Cake (part of their fall harvest menu). It was so good in fact, we decided that we'd return for breakfast the next day; with reinforcements.

We left a few behind at the hotel but we ventured on our way to a wonderful Cracker Barrel Breakfast. DeeeLish!

Aloha from Kaua'i

Greetings from Hawaii!
I arrived on Sunday at 7:30pm and leave again on Wednesday at 9:45pm. Quick trip here at the St.Regis Princeville.

It's a pair!!

Yay! I pair of socks completed! (Nearly) Identical twins!

I tend to have a little bit of second sock syndrome, but I actually finished the mate to my Arch Shaped Sock last night.

The fit of these socks is amazing. The arch structure makes it nice and snug and the standard heal flap w/ gusset construction was easy-peasy.

Of course it should be mentioned that these were originally inteded for mom. My gauge was a teensy bit off, hence, they fit me instead. Oh well, so they're pink and purple, who's gonna see'm under jeans?

After one month of labor the blessed event took place last night around 8pm.

How to make a room full of women jealous

Well, last night was knit night at Borders (one of two this week). Everyone was anxious to see all the yarnie goodness collected at the MFKR. I don't think they were quite prepared for it though. The jaws when the big bag of Zermatt from the Skacel Collection came out of the bag, along with the Curious Creek and goodies from WoolGirl. If that weren't enough to turn most green with envy I brought out my 'not-so-free' Toots LeBlanc purchases. There was definately a lot of fondling involved in last night's knitting group.

One of the gals actually has been to James (KiwiJames) and Ian's store in NZ and couldn't stop talking about all the beautiful yarns they had as well as the sweet shop up the block. I think she could be a stalker.

Another knitter is an avid reader of the Panopticon and L O V E S Franklin. (get in line beotch!) I informed her he was as witty in person as he is on his blog.

I miss all my new brothers-in-yarn. They have all truly inspired me. I may even knit up a sweater! I need to have something for show and tell next time.

MFKR

A REALLY GREAT GROUP OF GUYS

The Men's Fall Knitting Retreat 2009. Had a fantastic time at the Men's Retreat. I enjoyed meeting everyone that attended. No future husband though :( most everyone there seemed to already be in a committed relationship (jealous, party of 1).

The inspriational talk by Cat Bordhi was superb. We (men who knit) need to get out and recruit! Knit in public! Write! Organize!
